Can’t trigger the quest Mixed Signals

I'm doing a human only run as my first playthrough and I have reached a point where Alex asked me to upload the data of the two corals I’ve scanned. I already killed 8 nightmares and scanned them 5 times. According to the wiki, the prerequisite for triggering the quest Mixed Signals is just to have encountered and to be hunted by nightmares, which I already fulfilled. But so far I still haven’t trigger the quest. I also tried forcing it by directly installing the transistor on the satellite orbiting Talos I. But January just said he will dig it up and still didn’t give me the quest.
Is there a way to trigger the quest on human only run? Is it still possible to trigger the quest after I’ve incapacitated Dahl? Thanks for any help.

Happens me once, never found a solution. Keep in mind the Mixed signals works only 5 times i believe and that is it. Isnt really worth to try very hard to get this working.

Thank you for the response. I just want to unlock an achievement to which this quest is linked. Now that I have beaten the game, I have to do the achievement during the second playthrough.

Same thing, never got that Mixed Signals quest. And that actually not only one, another was about returning wedding ring but that NPC simply died (assumingly story related, although looks like bug as well) without giving any quest. In my case I got both quests items long before it would be possible to get corresponding quests, so maybe that what triggers bugs?..
