Microsoft has closed four Bethesda studios, according to IGN and Jason Schreier sources

- Arkane Austin (Prey, Redfall)
- Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within, Hi-Fi Rush)
- Alpha Dog (Mighty DOOM)
- Roundhouse Games (original Prey team)

Studios closed due to cutbacks within Microsoft and a desire to re-prioritize investments in high-profile franchises and new IP

There was never going to be a Prey 2 -- the game was very much the passion project of Arkane founder Raphaël Colantonio, and he left the studio in 2017.

yeah prey released in 17' and no leak of a pitch of sequel, unlike dishonored, basically a one of a kind gem now

You know, other studios can make sequels to these IPs because Microsoft owns the IPs, and can just pay one of the many studios they own to make them.

I like how they interrupted their very stupid plan to make a very bad Commander Keen game to make a very bad DOOM game instead and then were shocked that it wasn't performing well. Maybe we could do a Temple Run or Flappy Bird with Quake guy next? Zenimax are hopeless.

Both Doom games actually sold pretty well, but I can see not everyone likes the newest games.

I agree the "real" DOOM games were at least acceptable, and, tbh, probably the best games released recently under the overall Zenimax house aside from Prey
