12 hours to complete the game, no rpg elements, not 'open world' in the sence that the only open world is related to 'You can just go back there if you want to" for no purpose?
It also didn't innovate that. Serious Sam had local gravity 5 years earlier. It had even been hacked together by a LEVEL DESIGNER of all things in the Quake 2 engine in SiN before that.
Did you know that the genius behind your precious Prey 2 worked on Redfall?
And no Prey 2 wouldn't have been a good game, there's a reason why it wasn't finished!
As for Prey 2017: conceived of and released within four years. Arkane didn't make industry-shattering games or anything, but at least they functioned as a game studio (until, of course, they didn't).
2: Bethesda published Prey (2017), didn't develop it
3: Bethesda is cancer, since the original Prey2 was nearly complete, but then they canned it because they wanted to acquire the studio behind it (human head studios), they refused but the tentacles of corpo acquisition finally caught up with them eventually.
It was not nearly complete. From Chris Rhinehart's own embellished words, it was in pre-alpha in 2011 when they stopped working on it:
https://www.ign.com/articles/2015/04/08/human-head-discusses-prey-2s-troubled-development
Given the utter obviousness of his lie that they'd only worked on it for 2 years when the game was announced in 2006 and they did literally nothing else in between these two dates, I think we can take the claim that it was as far as "very close to alpha" with a grain of salt also.
And look at every game HH was involved with since:
Brink
Fort Courage
Defiance
Minimum
Lost Within
Dungeon Defenders II
The Quiet Man
Survived By
Rune II
Anyone give a crap? Anyone? I personally liked the first Rune myself (and earlier CR stuff like the Heretics/Hexens) but this guy was a nut and given his involvement in Redfail, it's probably time to pack it in.
Idk you're just an idiot even if this game isnt your cup of tea to say its complete garbage is just ignorant. Lets say theres a lunch table and the table has an unusual amount of chairs around it. If you know how mimics work they can only imitate objects in their immediate vicinity. So you walk towards the chairs hit all of them only to realize it was all in your head. A group of coworkers pulled up chairs to have conversations around a table in their down time before ♥♥♥♥ went down. Clearly over thinking things you walk past the chairs only to run into a mimic of a card board box laying in wait.
What other single player game can make the player mind game themselves seemingly by design. To say this game is garbage is just ignorant and there are far too many people like you out there.
