My main issue was that I wanted to have another long and slow playthrough properly messing around and having fun with the typhon powers, but not a pathetically small and annoying inventory.
I started a fresh run just to see how fast / easy it would be to essentially mainline blitz through the campaign doing a no needles run, as from what I read - if i do a no needles run, complete the game, then reload a late game save and pick a typhon power - I should get the no needles achievement for the first run and then the split affinity for the second.
Not ideal - as i'm essentially just treading water at the minute before i can 'play for fun', but given I want to get the achievements it seems like the most efficient / sensible way of doing so. I'll then go into NG+ using my original first human only and enjoy the game fully with typhon powers :D
*edit*
Blasted through the critical path in about 6 hours, got no needles achiev, then reloaded prior to detonation @ the bridge, installed a couple random typhon powers the finished and got Split Affinity :) (as well as the first typhon power achievement lol...)
