(Solved) Win 10 Game Doesn't start: Visual Studio C+++ 2015 library missing
I installed Prey on my new Win 10 x64 system. And I receive an error saying that VS 2015 C++ libraries are missing. When I download these libraries they won't install, because they are already available according to the installer, or a newer version is already installed.

I read that you can uninstall all the other VC++ distris but that seems utterly daft. It will force me to reinstall the entire range of VC++ distros, and will likely open pandora's box and some kind of DLL hell.

Isn't there a BETTER fix to get this game running than breaking open the proverbial hood of my machine and throwing a proverbial grenade inside?

Solved by uninstalling VC2017 C++ redist in safe mode. Rebooting, then downloading and installing the latest version from: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Thanks for the comments. I have VS 2017 VC++ redist installed. And when I try to install the latest version it basically says 'already installed'. Yet when I start Prey nothing happens. When I start it in Administrator mode I get the error vcruntime140.dll missing. :(

Someone (during my googling of this error) said to 'repair' the installation, but there's no option in Win 10 to repair, only to uninstall. Unintalled then reinstalled, still same error en Prey doesn't start.
