Is the music as bad as in the trailers?
The music in the trailers is absolute ear-rape crapola.

I expect sci-fi and/or horror games to have proper orchestral music and ambient music. Not utter trash banging-on-a-garbage-can-with-a-steel-pipe ear rape.

People who produce noise like that should be exiled to a remote island. People who use that in video games should be taken out behind the woodshed and thrashed.

I don't know what's in the trailers, but the music in the game didn't bother me and didn't piss me off. I was too immersed in the game. my favorites are the music from the menu and "Everything Is Going to Be Okay".

No, that a usual thing with trailers. And in this case bethesda really messed up the marketing.
In the actual game there is very little music during gameplay, I think it happens mostly in story moments or when you enter a completely new area. And maybe in a few cutscenes that there are in the game. As I remember it - most of the music is pretty mellow and pleasant.

No i dont recall this in game. And yes you're completely right in trashing and sending them off.
BUT its happening all the time on the radio, It made me not listening to radio even, but they are not send off to an island or trashed??
Are we the only ones that can sense that difference?

No, the music is fantastic. The banging on trash cans stuff is saved for combat. Exploring around Talos has some of the best ambient music I've heard in a game recently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJKySgNjkJM My favorite piece is at 8:30. I could listen to the song at 8:30 for hours, and I have. 3:40 is good too. The whole Ambient album is reminiscent of post-rock GY!BE type stuff. It's perfect for the setting.

I think the music is overall pretty good in the game but of course that depends on what you like. There's a couple of songs that I think are really great.

The music in this game is amazing. "Alex's Theme" in particular is absolutely terrific.

The music is solid in this game, along with the ambience. Just about the only terrible song in the game is the one you play in the Crew Quarters bar lol, and that's more of a novelty thing anyway and fits the place it was used in.

If I was to complain about sounds in this game I'd complain more about the sounds that play attached to triggers. There's a few places in the game that play a "horror noise" or begin to play ominous music, or just a random sound effect like a microphone being turned on, which you can trigger over and over by walking across an invisible line. When moving through the same area a bunch, these cues can start getting old fast.

Otherwise though no, at least in my opinion the music fits the game pretty well. Sad to say since it's a little geeky or whatever, but I actually had to rip Mind Games and set it as my alarm IRL lol, it's a pretty nifty track.

The music is Mick Gordon of all people!
The OST to Prey is awesome.

The OP hasn't even bought the game. Just a troll trying to stir.

If you're talking about the author of the discussion, then you're wrong. He played PREY (apparently not on Steam) and posted his thoughts in separate threads. Here you can read: the first and the second.

Don't really care. They haven't posted again, and don't own it on this format. If they had actually played it, don't you think they would know that the music is different from the trailer?

He wrote this thread before he played the game. Later, he changed his mind and spoke positively about PREY. Isn't it obvious?
