works with Proton 6 (Linux)

Proton / Wine is just great, this game works on Linux with Proton and Vulkan.

what can i say - it's fantastic, finally i am in the mood to finish this game because i'm on Linux most of the time.

Performance is at stable 60fps 1920x1080 with Radeon RX 5600.


in fact i have many games that run with Proton and because of Vulkan it's much faster than native OpenGL games in combination with Radeon. However native Vulkan ports have great performance too but there are not that many yet.

A long time ago, I remember this game having problems with controller support and game breaking bugs preventing you from finishing the main story (on windows). Does this game work properly in those regards these days? I am running Manjaro and will pick this game up on the sale if everything seems normal.

i play with keyboard and i have no controller so i dont know.

also Proton and Wine can be picky, when it comes to hardware, for example "Horizon Zero Dawn" works on my computer (50 hours without crash) but it did not work with NVidia.

it really depends on the hardware, which is quite strange because you might think there is some kind of software layer abstraction.

so i dont know, you'll have to try, i used to play Prey on Windows until i recently discovered that most of my games work with Proton, i even prefer Proton to native OpenGL ports in many cases because Proton uses Vulkan and that has way better performance compared to OpenGL when it comes to AMD Radeon.

Could be it works with other hardware, all i can say, it works on my systems.
