Help in Dr. Calvino's workshop.
When I try to repair the Looking GLass screen none of the repair subroutines are working. I've tried them all, and each one tells me that there's nothing wrong, and the quest won't progress. The power to the office is ON, so is there something I'm not doing?

You need to find the damaged server, not the LG itself.

on the computer, go to "Diagnostics" and the top choice.
it will tell you which server is down...
then you go to "Network Utilities"
and click the server that was indicated as down.

Or just go straight to Network Utilities and click each server in turn?

I went to the Network Utilities, tried each server in turn, and each one said that it was fine. Could this be linked, in any way, to me not heading out into space to find Calvino's body and get his keycard? I got into his workshop without doing that.

wait... did...
I'm just asking to be absolutely sure...

Did you listen to the message from yourself until it gets shut off by Alex?

(also, what is the alternative way into his workshop?)

Yes, I listened to the message. I'm not sure if this was supposed to happen, but after going through the security checkpoint and upon learning that I needed to get the keycard to get into Calvino's workshop, the door to the workshop suddenly opened on its own and I was able to go through. So it wasn't anything specific that I did, but something that just seemed to happen.

it's possible that getting in that way borked something, I'd reload an earlier save and re-do that section and find his body and key card the normal way... he's just a few rooms over.

other than that... I really don't know.
one of the servers should have gotten disconnected, and you use the network utilities should be able to reconnect it. you really only need to enter this room once per playthrough.

Damn. Is this your re-run? If yes, then there may be a problem with the saves. Deleting these saves from a folder on a PC will help here.

I wondered if that was it, as I started a new game, and I remember going into space to retrieve Calvino's keycard before getting into his workshop. People on the forums are also taking about doing said spacewalk like it's required. I'll check this later on tonight.

Update: Last night, I figured out that I hadn't actually located Dr. Calvino's body. So I did that via the computer in the security booth, and now it looks like I might actually be able to do this.

Second update: After looking at an online walkthrough, it appears that there were certain required steps that I somehow skipped over without even realizing it, thus rendering me being unable to progress. What's weird is that I didn't run into this problem the first time I played. Therefore, I started a new playthrough in the hopes that I can get over this hurdle. THIS time, I'll be referring to said walkthrough to make sure I don't miss anything.

YES! It worked! Got the Looking Glass screen repaired, and I'm now heading back to Morgan's office. Thanks for everyone who helped out.

Glad you got it sorted!
