Prey
is mooncrash worth it?
the store page for the dlc has a lot of negative reviews. complaining about unfair difficulty and grindy/monotonous gameplay?

i do really like the main game, but if so many people say the game is dissapointing maybe i shouldn't spend money on it?

Can you point out why you like the base game?

Let me tell you, i didnt like mooncrash as much as the base game. I want to look around, take the time to loot and make progress. In Mooncrash there is a bit hurry and you need to rush through the game to complete it. But did i regret i did buy Mooncrash? No, it was fun to play another part of Prey and use new weapons and see new enemy and abilities. So i still recommend you to buy it.

100% worth it. Some even consider it better than the base game. Theres a perfect video explaining why mooncrash is the best dlc of 2018 on youtube but i would watch it after playing
The difficulty is dynamic which means its the same for all but gets harder the longer you stay at the moonbase. Its not grindy perse as theres nothing to grind since you have to restart many time but its like battle royale where all the items you find are completely randomised (except a few neuromods here and there) so it is down to some RNG but its not too bad. It also follows multiple story arcs such as Morgan's cousin riley on this second base
thanks for the reply, any other opinions? time for the sale i runing out...

sounds like ill be buying the game then. while i did love base Prey, one of its faults is that if you actually explore all the levels you will become overpowered and be able to kill even nightmares with ease.
so balancing this out to make the game more challanging and fast sounds great to me.

thank's ya'll for the replies

there is a time limit which is what many people get worried or complain about but thats in par with difficulty
what 12345 said is correct it does feel like a rush when you slowly see the corruption meter go higher and higher but there are ways to prevent this like a loop delay which can be found in the map randomly or on a typhon, or can be bought with the new currency system, something else to keep in mind is that each corruption level will be slightly longer (depending on where you are in the story objectives) but its like this:

Default 15 min 15 min 15 min 16.25 min 11.25 min 10 min
Phase 2 12.50 min 12.50 min 10 min 10 min 10 min 10 min
Phase 3 10 min 10 min 10 min 9 min 8 min 8 min
Narrative Phase 3 13.75 min 13.75 min 15 min 17.50 min 12.50 min 10 min
Narrative Phase 4 12.5 min 11.25 min 16.25 min 18.75 min 13.75 min 10 min
Narrative Phase 5 10 min 10 min 18.75 min 18.75 min 15 min 10 min
Narrative Phase 6 6.25 min 10 min 20 min 20 min 16.25 min 10 min

so narrative phase 6 which i believe is after completing all story objectives and the final objective is to leave the base with all people in one run is the best one to explore and loot and have fun since its the longest overall

Yeah, I would say it's definitely worth it. It's not as great of a game as the original Prey IMO and there is an element of repetition to it but there's not necessarily a lot of grinding unless you're trying to max out everyone's neuromods.

I was a little afraid by the time limit and the idea of things just getting harder but after playing, I realized that wasn't actually something to be afraid of. It's an aspect of the game that's quite manageable.
