A few side effects of killing January early:
You basically miss out on a ton of the lore info that January drops throughout the game. The plot-essential instructions are usually assigned to a different NPC, but most of it is gone entirely.
December will live, giving you additional dialogue in the Neuromod Division if you visit them there. If you don't go to the Neuromod Division, December can contact you eventually saying they checked for you, couldn't find the key card, and send you to Alex's office anyways. December's guidance is much more sparse than January's, and generally only happens when you make progress in their quest. Ultimately you will meet December in front of Alex's escape pod, where they'll see you off and self-destruct.
You will not be able to complete the Nightmare satellite transmitter sidequest because January will not be alive to finish it for you. You can still fix the satellite, even though no one ever told you about it.
Dialog in your office when Mikhaila and/or Igwe reach it will be slightly different given that January isn't there (I think Chris Avellone wrote conversations for nearly every possible combination of these three being alive). The first one to reach your office will comment that they found the pieces of an operator in there.
If you kill both Mikhaila and January, Danielle Sho will guide you through cycling the reactor in Power Plant.
If Alex is alive, he'll be alone at the Bridge at the end of the game instead of in conflict with January. You can choose to do the self-destruct ending as a typhon scot-free since January won't be alive to trick the shuttle into leaving without you.
