It's just a theory, will try it out later.
Near the endgame I had scavaged all resources, had upto 200 of everything, except for mineral. Also recycled most weapons I found, and did not dismantle them for spare parts.
Overuse of shotgun/pistol will do that for you. Don't know if recycle nades will solve this as the yield is not grreat.
Advice: mix it up a little more. Use goo/zapper/emp nades/nullwave nades, fallback to wrench for free and combine with combat focus or typhon skills.
Or if you craft a lot of Neuromods. Then its a godsend.
I wish they'd patch the game to either increase the yield of minerals, or have fabricators use less of it. (I know some of you are hardcore and want less loot, but this isn't the thread for you then)
Once you have the fabrication plan, as people noted, as long as you get at least 1 mineral out of a charge, you can fabricate recycler charges and get some gains on minerals.
Most people that are suffering from resource issues tend to not be paying attention to weaknesses and range. For instance, shooting operators with the pistol or shotgun is a great way to blow through your ammo, but 1-3 shots of the disrupter will destroy them (or just stun them with one, then hack them so they are friendly!).
Wrench and turrets are your big "ammo conservation" sources. A turret is basically free (the occasional spare parts to repair/fortify) damage output. GLOO canisters are in excess, so glue+wrench most things.
Stealth is also a great ammo conservation. I see a lot of people breaking stealth with the gloo gun, which nets them nothing. Break stealth with a weapon attack for the bonus damage, THEN gloo and kill (or run and hide, then come back for another stealth attack!)
Other tips are to just recycle things you don't have a real use for. Extra weapons can be recycled if you need resources, or dismantled if you need parts. If you are like me, I never found a use for lures or emp grenades, so they went straight to recycling as well. Unless you are running a psi build, psi hypos are pointless after a certain quest, so scrap them too.
Though, even without doing that, I still struggle to understand how ppl are slow low on ammo and mats. Recycling a heap of ammo atm as just don't need it.
