Running short of Mineral Material
Because I made too many shot gun shells.
So basically how to get more of them?

And the funny part I find in this game is that, most fabrication plans require mineral materials, while very few of them require exotic materials.
It's like I got 40 synthetic and 50 exotic materials with no pratical use.

youre not alone man. the mineral/exotic ratio is way to unbalanced. i too got about 40/50 with no use and im happy about every extra weapon i find to scrap. :(
I have an idea. Wiki says Recycler Charge could recycle things, but one such grenade requires 1 mineral material. So basically we need to find something that after recycling, it provides more than 1 mineral material.
It's just a theory, will try it out later.

woa never thought about the recycle grenade. thx

I think devs should provide a way to turn extotic materials to other materials.

That is a easy problem to fix. The recycle charge will recycle anything that isn't bolted to the floor if it is within the range. Just go to a room with a lot of metal. Gather it all into a big pile and thrown in the recycle charge.

It will get worse.

Near the endgame I had scavaged all resources, had upto 200 of everything, except for mineral. Also recycled most weapons I found, and did not dismantle them for spare parts.

Overuse of shotgun/pistol will do that for you. Don't know if recycle nades will solve this as the yield is not grreat.

Advice: mix it up a little more. Use goo/zapper/emp nades/nullwave nades, fallback to wrench for free and combine with combat focus or typhon skills.

For me I had 40 minerals and 1 synthetic. You really should be using guns more thoughfully.

i never found it necessary for that skill used to harvest exotic from typhon

That skill is pretty useless unless you make a lot of psi hypos.

Or if you craft a lot of Neuromods. Then its a godsend.

You get plenty of alien material for that. Every enemy drop some, you can also just junk some of your psi hypos as you get a lot of them.

Can we think of more ways to get mineral material? It's only metal? I tried the recycler grenade thing and got a neato clunk of it, but now im out of grenades.

I wish they'd patch the game to either increase the yield of minerals, or have fabricators use less of it. (I know some of you are hardcore and want less loot, but this isn't the thread for you then)

Recycling metal is pretty much the only way. Things like broken computer parts can be stuffed into the recycler. Using recycler charges, you can recycle things like crates.
Once you have the fabrication plan, as people noted, as long as you get at least 1 mineral out of a charge, you can fabricate recycler charges and get some gains on minerals.

Most people that are suffering from resource issues tend to not be paying attention to weaknesses and range. For instance, shooting operators with the pistol or shotgun is a great way to blow through your ammo, but 1-3 shots of the disrupter will destroy them (or just stun them with one, then hack them so they are friendly!).
Wrench and turrets are your big "ammo conservation" sources. A turret is basically free (the occasional spare parts to repair/fortify) damage output. GLOO canisters are in excess, so glue+wrench most things.
Stealth is also a great ammo conservation. I see a lot of people breaking stealth with the gloo gun, which nets them nothing. Break stealth with a weapon attack for the bonus damage, THEN gloo and kill (or run and hide, then come back for another stealth attack!)

Other tips are to just recycle things you don't have a real use for. Extra weapons can be recycled if you need resources, or dismantled if you need parts. If you are like me, I never found a use for lures or emp grenades, so they went straight to recycling as well. Unless you are running a psi build, psi hypos are pointless after a certain quest, so scrap them too.

Again, Just make a scrape pile in a level - stack all the black cases/dead operators/chairs/bins/lamps/etc into a big ass pile and then recycle it.

Though, even without doing that, I still struggle to understand how ppl are slow low on ammo and mats. Recycling a heap of ammo atm as just don't need it.

Be careful how you use it. This is not a shooting game alone. Get sneak skills and sneak up on a enemy. You can always shoot them later but use the bonus sneak damage to your advantage. When you use the wrench and fully charge it you will knock them down which means they can't do anything. You can always pull out a weapon if all else fail. When you mastered that combat style you will not be short on ammo as you will have picked up so much on it just by being conservative. The sneaking skills are good in this game.
