Shuttle advent bug ? (possible spoilers)
I am in Talos 1 bridge looking around and suddenly I get the "mission completed" notification for the shuttle advent quest. A quest I have never encountered and is not in the list of my active quests.I loaded several saves and every time I get the same notification, though not exactly after the same amount of time (there is a 1 to 5 minutes variation), and not doing the same action (doing nothing also triggers it).

Am I missing something or is it a bug ?

I like the game but there are too many game breaking bugs. I already had to load a much older save to recover from the bug after opening the dorr to Cargo B and it is getting annoying.

The quest is triggered by picking up the TranScribe from the captain's corpse on the bridge, where an audio log of hers details her dilemma of deciding whether or not to remote detonate an escape shuttle heading to Earth that may have Typhon on board. So now that you found it, it's now your dilemma, as the shuttle has not landed on Earth yet.

A computer console near her body has a button for remote detonating the shuttle. There is also a countdown until the shuttle lands on Earth. The quest ends when the shuttle makes it to Earth or if you decide to remote detonate it. So, you're getting "Quest Completed" because the countdown ends and the shuttle lands on Earth.

Thanks for you reply.

Unfortunately, I think it cannot be due to the countdown since the quest is not in my list of objectives and when I reload saves it deos not always complete the objective after the same amount of time. Smells fishy to me.

Tarvis is right. Check the area in the bridge again for a terminal you'll see an option to scuttle the shuttle or just ignore it you'll see the timer ticking on the terminal screen.

Thanks both for your help, I had totally overlooked the Captain's office. I guess the countdown starts when you arrive at Talos 1 bridge for the 1st time, not when you listen to the audio log, that would explain why the mission completed itself even if I did not find the terminal or anything related to this shuttle quest. I confirm I had not found the captain's corpse and the audio log prior to the objective being completed.
To clarify:

The EXACT trigger for starting the countdown is in an area surrounding the Captain's Loft. This means you CAN enter the Talos I Bridge and explore the area while holding off on this quest as long as you stay away from the Captain's Loft. I had thought it was triggered the moment the "Captain's Loft" area notification pops up on your HUD but it can trigger without seeing this -- about halfway up the stairs.

I tested this by using the GLOO gun to scale the wall nearby and peek in and the timer will not start unless you get close enough to the balcony. If you have Remote Manipulation III you can even look at the screen before the timer starts. If you get up high enough on the wall you can even pull Jada Marks corpse to you so you can get her keycard without triggering the timer, as well.
