Can't figure out how to get Alex's self destruct key

The objective takes me to the Arboretum, but I'm not sure what I need to do to get him to come out. Been trying to figure out for hours now, help would be appriciated.

Yep, I remember something triggering there, where I talked to him, but I never saw him in person

You only need it for one of the endings so decide if blowing up the station is the way you want to go before spending a lot of time on it.

Yeah I read that, but that is the only quest I have, and I got no idea what to do.

have you scanned the coral? He sends you off to scan it in several places before he'll give it to you

I don't think I've done that. Does it give you a quest with markers for the coral or do you have to find it on your own?

It gives you quest markers to go scan the coral (Talos I Exterior).
I did have trouble getting to Alex following that. If you have dealt with Dahl and are finally trying to meet with Alex, the quest marker is useless (quest marker is underground in Arboretum for some reason). Go up to Alex's office and wander around the exterior, and in a certain area you'll get an audio cue and a secret panel will open up

I haven't done the Dahl or the coral yet. Do you know if I have to go/do something to trigger a quest for that?

Without knowing your exact quests, I can only guess. "The keys to the kingdom" is a big quest that actually spans several different plot sections.
If you have dealt with deep storage, etc then it is likely some random item you needed to pick up. Look around Alex's office, in particular his desk. See if there is anything to pick up, or anything new to fiddle with on his computer. If you are at the "go look at the coral" section, doing that requires a scope chip to be equipped, so the quest might not be updating until you pick up and equip that chip

What events have you just finished doing?

I think I figured it out. After you reset the reactor, your mission updates to "Go hear Alex out in his office." After that, he gives you the password for the computer, and you watch a video and you get the score chip. But all of that never happened for me, I hacked the computer before I think, and it won't let me watch the video. So I guess I might have accidently broke the game or something.

Ah, a similar thing happened to me. Try inspecting the computer a couple times. For me it took a weirdly long time for the option to watch the video to appear
