Prey (2006)
Steam does not offer the old prey 2006 verson, however, G2A does. G2A offers it as a kwy from the steam plateform download content. I was wondering if anyone bought the key and applied it to their steam acct. Will steam honor it????

The game can still be downloaded from steam if you got a working key. One reason for the game no longer sold on steam is that the engine only supported a certain amount of keys, and to allow the game to allow more will need a major rewrite.

I bought key on retail site (wont mention it here but it has 2 letters and a number between). Activated on steam without problems and its still in my inventory forever, to install and play at my leisure :)

Is the one from 2006 really good?

yes its very good. it looks like doom 3 graphics horror etc. It uses the id tech 4 engine... but its a good game from back in the day.

In 2006 game you (as well as few cities) were kidnapped by living alien ship. Cool for the time level design, portals, gravity track (you were able to walk on the "walls" and "ceiling" while on these tracks and funny story made me really enjoy the game at the time. However it is related to the current game in the same fashion as Far Cry related to Far Cry 2 (basically just by name).

Hello I am trying to decide whether to buy this game on PC(currently $2.13 at the site mentioned above) or at the Xbox store (currently $1.99 plus tax). Acc. to this article:

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/prey-pc-versus-xbox-360/1100-6154261/

the Xbox 360 version supports Dolby 5.1 which is important to me since I own a DSS2, while the PC version only has a surround sound option.

Obviously the PC version would look a lot better graphically but the article also mentioned that it has no native support for widescreen resolutions.

Well apparently the Xbox version still has multiplayer and is giving away all its multiplayer characters and map dlcs for free, so I will just pick that up. The Xbox version is also guaranteed and official( so hopefully the developers still get a cut) while sometimes this grey market keys don't always work and only benefits the reseller and the reseller market site.
