Prey
Human or Mimic powers
The game is downloading now and I am wondering if I should do my first playthrough with human powers only or with mimic powers

Mimic powers won't be avaliable to you unitl a few hours into the game. So you should go with a mix. Some of the human powers are just must have. Like extra healing and hitpoints, and at least one level in hacking and repair.

Also I know that if you get to many mimic powers you cant use sentry turrets after you get a certain amount of mimic powers do you know the limit?

You don't have to, but I personally went with just human abilities on my first playthrough mainly focusing on hacking, repair and some weapon damage tossed in. I saved the alien powers for my second run. and I gotta say they are crazy fun if not being a bit annoying since you have to 'scan' enemies constantly to steal their powers plus to get upgraded ranks of said powers.

Human abilities have more utility, whereas most Typhon powers are focused on Combat, with the exceptions of the resistances, Mimicry and Grav Lift.

I personally recommened doing a first playthrough using only Human powers and a second one with only Typhon powers

i dont know if the game counts # of powers # of invested points, but the 3. (tier one) power which should be about 6 mods, put me on the bad side with the turrets, they where mimic 1, remote mnipulation 1 and robot control 1, the last one put me one the target list of the turrets. btw mimic 1 is the only one being very useful , the second one i need only once and that robot thingy was a panic buy because of twist #22 =P.

PS: if you wanna make the run completly without mimic typhon powers, all mimicry does for you imho is 4 to 6 times getting you in a closed room sooner/without code searching, all other things (hacking, leverage) being maxed

I actually discovered it in the screen with Morgans face that you can only have 1 and turrets won't attack anything over that and you are considered a threat

you can have 2 without them attacking you but (Spoiler) The moment you install a typhon neuromd the Nightmare will come for you. It is bassicly the game's version of a boss

i would recommend to use both kind of powers for your first playthrough. there are some story hooks you will miss / that will make less sense, if you don't use both branches.

Typhon abilities are a lot of fun. Don't sweat the turrets-attack-you thing because, as someone else said, you can hack them to be friendly, and also they become less relevant in the later game anyway.
