thanks anyway
prey has a whole space station you can roam around freely and explore as you wish.
i would recommend to buy it on the next sale. 60 is a bit steep
That being said, get Doom.
1-) It is cheaper.
2-) It doesn't have Denuvo so you'll have way better performance with it.
3-) It has multiplayer and they just released a 20 GB patch for it (a lot of content is coming up)
Doom is definitely not a waste of money so it makes sense to me. Besides, it is THE purest form of FPS. This game has more replayability so you'll get your money's worth definitely but don't miss out on Doom.
P.S.: Doom is kinda difficult compared to this game so be prepared :)
For me Prey is closer from Dead Space 1 than Doom.
There are lot of exploration, research and "puzzle solving" with sometimes big battles; Doom is just "run & shoot, you'll think later" (I love Doom, don't kick me - just want to say it's really not the same kind of game).
If you're looking for a pure shoot game, yeah, go for Doom.
If you love exploration and lore, go for Prey.
thanks very much guys, i was swaying in favour of DOOM anyways :)
Both games are fantastic, and I highly recommend getting Prey down the line (next time it's on sale maybe)?
Doom however, is just so freaking good from a pure run and gun shooter aspect, I've honestly never played an FPS that just "felt" so fun shooting things. Plus it's cheaper. It also looks incredible, and while I don't think Prey is a bad looking game by any means, Doom definitely has "show this to your friends can you believe that?" kind of graphics.
DOOM is your straight forward, run and gun, action over the top shooter. Gorgeous, incredibly fun... and wonderfully violent.
PREY... is a more slow paced, environmentally driven, RPG and exploration based.
Both are worth the time. DOOM is if you want a fast paced shooter, PREY is if you want something like System Shock 2.
And, as for bugs, I've played PREY from start to finish and jumped back into multiple places... and never had any issues. Both games are incredibly polished, well optimized and very stable.
If money is a big issue, then get Doom when it's on sale for $14.99, since Prey will be on sale for much less later. It was on sale for about $40 when I got it. So far, Prey is my game of the year, so $59.99 would have been a great price for me, even. Like I said, it all depends on what ticks your enjoyment boxes in video games.
Any proof that Denuvo causes performance issues? Because all the BS I hear about it are pure lies everytime...
I bought it for $30 on release from 3rd party site. I would wait for a sale the game is really good, but no point to buy the game full price after this long after the release date it will be on sale soon enough...
