Additionally (and also quite annoying) is that there's 3 (or 4?) people locked in a closet in the IT department that you can never get into. Spent ages looking for the keycard for that, but apparently it doesn't exist. So not really a bug, just annoying design.
Where as the issue with Kirk is that he's supposed to spawn as a phantom, but doesn't if you've already been through the escape pod section of life-support.
IT Card is linked to killing everyone on the station. Won't spoil it.
Your assessment of Kirk is correct though. He won't always spawn, even in a fresh Life Support map.
He eventually spawned after I did other objectives and came back to Life Support later in the game.
If you've already killed him and looted his corpse, he should be marked as 'found' in the terminal. I haven't heard of that being an issue before, or being able to find him before the quest.
My mistake, I did get Nicole's ring. I was confusing her with the person that's marked as being "Off Station" on the security computer.
If you Google it, there's a *lot* of people with the same issue. You basically have to mess around with the game files to get him to show up again.
The other 'fix' for him not spawning is to reset that level, which would involve messing around with the files.
What I was trying to say is that I have never heard of him being able to be found before the quest and having him not be marked as "found" when his body is searched.
- Disable Steam Cloud if you're using it.
- Take the lobby elevator and go to life support, but DO NOT enter it. Make a new save game just outside the life support entry point.
- Now exit the game, go to C:\Users\Utente\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\Prey\SaveGames, select your campaign slot (if it's your first run it should be Campaign0), then the folder of the new savegame you've just created. Sort the folders by date and look for it by the most recent.
-Inside your savegame folder (something called Manual1, or Manual2, etc.) look for lifesupport.level and drag it somewhere else. Don't delete it, just in case you know.
- Now jump into Prey again and load your save. Now enter Life Support. What you've basically done is resetting the life support area of the game, but this will enter in conflict with your run, because of course your savefile and game area now do not match. Anyways, once in Life support, go after the security checkpoint, down the stairs, forward to the elevator to the Lower level, go all the way down and then to the escape pods. Don't go anywhere else, don't touch anything, don't kill anyone, just rush in there.
- Once in the escape pods area, you should find Kirk Remmer, kill him, loot him, and then rush back to the lobby elevator, outside Life Support. Save again, exit the game, and put lifesupport.level back where it was. Here you go! If something doesn't work try another time, or just google the issue to find the post of the guy who discovered this.
Worked! But u have to disable Cloud saving
That's correct! :D
I have a question. I have Prey installed on my D drive and I can't find life support.level file. I can only find level.pak but when I delete this I can't enter location. Where can I find life support.level file if my game is installed on D drive (I disabled stem cloud already)?
I will really appreciate your help guys!
