Prey

Is this dlc worth it?
I heard that it had some kind of timer? That sounds like a terrible idea for a game like prey.

It's very good, but the timer is really irritating. There are mods that either increase the time or remove it entirely.

I would certainly grab it when it's on sale.

It's a procedurally generated survival mode where you have a certain amount of time to make it to the exit and finish the run.

You're meant to die a lot until you understand how to best approach each situation and do it quickly.

Considering that the game is on sale ALONE for $14.99 and you can buy it with BOTH DLC for $19.99 it's worth it.

That's what Mooncrash is?

You'll figure out fairly quickly how to circumvent the timer. easily I think it's fitting, adds a bit of stress and vulnerability which you didn't have in the main game.

Strongly recommended DLC

Mooncrash has a timer in the same way Risk of Rain does (Mooncrash is a roguelite). You take too long, the game gets harder. You take waaaay too long and you just straight-up lose. There are mechanics to set the time back. I beat the DLC without any mods or cheating, it's not really that hard. That said, the Moonshark was a buggy mess the last time I played it, but the more you level up your characters, the less that will matter.

side question: does the dlc add anything to the main game?

weapons, skills, stuff like that, guess i'll pass on it for now, not interested in the whole roguelite thing

I haven't gotten around to playing the DLC yet, I'm still slogging my way through the main game which has become exceedingly boring. The monsters in prey or very bland, none-exciting. It would be more scary if you were fighting field mice.

Mooncrash is amazing. This guy says it's the best DLC of 2018, check it out:

It's good, it's different. It's a small rogue-like where you play multiple characters per attempt, building towards all characters escaping in one run. Worth it.
