Prey
How the F*UCK are you supposed to hide? [solved]
I am starting to get truly cheesed with this damned demo. First, every time I use an elevator, my character gets stuck, making it necessary to quit and reload. Now, Dr. Bellamy asks me to hide in a room with noplace to hide!

There's no closet or container I can duck into, nothing I can climb onto or mantle over, just a chair in full view of the observation window.

Is there something I fail to grasp concerning the definition of "hide?" Or, is there some aspect of this gameworld that's obvious to everyone but me? Maybe someone could tell me what the big secret is.

All right; that f*cking tears it. When I got to Room C of the testing facility, that *ssh*le Dr. Bellamy asks me to "press the blue button as quickly and naturally as possible."

There isn't any gawdamned blue button ANYWHERE in that room! This game SUCKSI

I'm not paying forty dollars for a game that's pure B*LLSH*T! How can ANYONE play this game and not know they're getting ripped off?

Uh, just jump over the box in the middle and hit the blue button. Also, use the chair to hide behind. Pick it up and hide behind it.

You'll found out later why you can't hide, I won't spoil it to you. At the beginning of the game you are supposed to "fail" the tests because you don't have any typhoon neuromod installed .
In the room C the blue button is right in front of you, just climb the obstacle and run towards it.

Pick up the chair and throw it the window because **** hiding, you are playing fps (sort of).

Not sure what the issue is outside of the elevator bit the rest is story related. Op sorry to ask but are you slightly autistic.

Honestly, what confuses me about the intro is WHY the scientists are confused.

**SPOILERS**
This was supposed to be the mental test to ensure you are still sane AFTER the neuromods were stripped, wasn't it? It's almost as if they were expecting you to be a typhon phantom. The whole "We are acting like you are Morgan, but want you to use powers that the typhon would use" schtick seems strange to me.

I... suppose if they installed the mods into you after stripping them out since the last "day", that could possibly be why they are surprised you aren't using powers, but that is still... odd.

They were. The first three tests are designed to see if the experimental neuromods they installed in you work. When they say, "Hide in the most natural way possible." they're hoping you turn into the chair, not crouch behind it.
They've presumably run those tests a zillion times, as they develop the mods, and Morgan's memory gets reset after they uninstalled the prototypes each time.
Only the final test is the one to see if Morgan's personality has drifted over all the times he's had his memory reset.

When you run the test at the start of the game, Morgan has had dud mods installed, instead of the next iteration of the ones being developed, which he's supposed to be testing. That's why the scientists keep not getting any results as you do the tests.

I'm just not sure why NOT having any mods at all was a required trigger to escape confinement thanks to January. In fact, leaving utility mods like that in would be really helpful.

Either way, I do believe that you are not supposed to have any mods going in. This was supposed to be Morgan's first day, before being invited up to Talos, where they were being developed. It seems strange to me that they want to test the efficacy of neuromods that Morgans was not even supposed to have according to the normal timeline.

I understand the "do the tests as naturally as it comes to you" part implies they want you to use mimic/kinetic blast/telekinesis to do the tests, but I just don't get WHY they assumed you had them.

He is on Talos 1 all along, have you even played past the first 15 minutes? He was working on Talos 1 and (simplified) decides to act as a lab rat to test the new typhon neuromods on. He is expected to have the typhon abilities, but January swaps in blank ones instead so that he remembers the previous day and breaks the cycle. Normally the neuromods were removed and his memory reset.
