Is this game similar to half-life in any way?

I just bought the 8$ pack but since my current pc is a potato I played a lot of half life recently and kept this game in my library for the day i'll have a new pc (very soon btw). I bought it because it seems very similar to hl (based on the images/ video on the game's page) and also because it was cheap. I just want to know your opinion. thanks for answering

Half Life is a FPS, this is an immersive sim, there are game mechanics which the HL games don't have, gameplay is nonlinear, the story can branch depending on your choices.

Think of it more like sandbox space station with npcs.

The plot is fairly similar to Half-Life up to a point, but the gameplay is more similar to the System Shock/BioShock games.

Well, just bought the game but it looks like it has a deep story, mystery, horror, suspense and violent action attached to it. Great things that also were in half life 1.

Weapons are more complex, though. It has crafting (or something similar), and you can use weapons/powers in different ways according to the situation.

I enjoyed this game more than half life, and the two have similarities.

I find it similar to half life 1, bio shock, and system shock.

The game definitely has similarities to half life: it's a first-person sci-fi action/horror game and the mimics are totally just shapeshifting headcrabs with better AI.

Gameplay wise though, it's much more similar to system shock or bioshock. Depending on how you build your character, you've got 20-30 different tools/abilities you can use in any given situation as opposed to half life where you have 5 weapons, the gravity gun and a crowbar.

If you like half life then it is a good investiton in future with a little more brainy.
