mooncrash, some newbie questions
just started playing this and enjoying it but confused.

1. control modules. I pick them up, they take up a lot of space, but what do I do with them?

2. each time I die I restart, but how does that work when I have more than one character? I read to leave all your stuff in a box just before you successfully escape so I do that with my first character. my second character finds it all, but he dies. does that mean all of that stuff is gone now?

3. once I have done all 5 characters is that it or do I then need to do all 5 at one time?

4. the neuromods roll over so am I better to play a few games just trying to get all the neuromods spaces filled to make it easier for proper runs later?

5. some of the areas from the moon crater have like corrupted graphics and you cant go in. does that change? can I emp them?

1) control modules are for power or activating terminals near trams, to activate them, theyre your main source of power, usually 2 are needed but not always

2)you can find your dead character's body and theyll have the stuff on them so you dont need to put it in boxes or operator always, sometimes theyll be a phantom too so kill them and loot your stuff back

3) all 5 at 1 time will fulfil a KASMA order which is one of the main objectives but make that an endgame option, i.e your final task
4)i would do that yes, you also get achievement for all neuromods, make sure to scan typhon to unlock extra powers
5)you are only in the tutorial part of the game, they arent going to let you access everything first, escape with andrius and then everything is unlocked

As for the control modules, there are a few main places they are needed:
  • The power room under the crater has six slots for Control modules - these control power to the other three areas. If the power is out you'll need to replace the missing control modules to restore power.
  • The Trams each have a box with two control modules near them. If a tram is down you'll need to replace the control modules to get the tram online.
If you need a control module you can find them lying around like you did. You may also find a fabrication plan for control modules if you poke around enough. If worst comes to worst, you may have to borrow a control module that is already in use to restore power or tram access to where you need it.

Control modules have a secondary use as well! If you sacrifice a control module by dropping one on the ground, then shoot it, it produces an EMP blast that can be used to stun enemies and disable electronics. Handy for getting past a Typhon gate in a pinch or setting a trap for a rogue operator...

Oh, and I forgot to mention that those large harvester drones flying around in the crater and the moonworks have control modules too, if you take the time to shoot them down. As a bonus, the harvesters also tend to have a lot of materials for fabricating stuff!

The game has one of the best tuned level of difficulty and progression of it since "The Darkest Dungeon". You have to actually learn the game or you will fail, but the game is very forgiving in the first levels. The difficulty decreases with gaining those simulation points which result in better starting gear and with the accumulation of neuromods which improve your characters permanently, and increases with the growing length of the runs due to more unlocked characters and with the pure increase of difficulty due to game progression (you will see what i mean when you get deeper into the game, keyword here is simulation level).

So take your time, explore the station, remember sweet spots for equipment and develop tactics for a more easy experience. The goal is to get away with all 5 survivors in a single run.

Mooncrash is some of the best gaming of all time. I played it way more than the main game, and I thought the main game was great.

Very annoyed that they didnt have "true replayability" like they said. Once kasma orders are done its new game or last checkpoint aka the last cutscene. Not even NG+ just full new game
Or atleast make the final checkpoint the one before the final kasma order

Ya, there could have been something like more maps with the same mechanics, or maybe selling updates/maps for a buck or something.. but all in all, Mooncrash was more or less a freebie to go along with a really good main game.
