Prey space enemies OP?

I think ive done something wrong, i JUST got to the free space area and every enemy is either 1 shotting me or simply taking all my ammo for every weapon and not dying, its quite clear i missed something but idk what it is

Depends then you got into the Exterior.
You can go Outside then you are at the Hardware Lab but you dont need to explore then .
If you Explore and you encounter a Technoemphat that early its deadly.
You dont got the Neurostims for your Human or Other Powers and not enough Upgrades for your Weapons.
You dont realy need to Explore the exterior early its not that mutch that you can explore there.
Follow the Story and upgrade your Char then it should be better ;)

don't use your weapon exclusively. use and upgrade abilities, then you can maybe use your weapon outside. always. try to make a combination of both til you can find equilibrium.

Thats my fault then, considereing i have no upgrades or abilities yet lol

before spending neuromods into combat/defence skills, read the istructions of the weapons/tools you have.
some of them work beautifully if used against the right type of enemy, some have no effect at all.

I can't go too far into explaining why, that'd be spoiler.
