how to play when you are a huge wimp

i love playing this game except for the fact that im a huge wimp and have a heart attack every time anything even vaguely startling happens...
i just want ideas for how to make things less spooky or how to get into a headspace where i don't care. ive turned the music off so i can listen to my own but that only helps so much hehe

Step one stop being a baby step two acquire shotgun upgrade that mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with neromods and upgrades step 3 the only scary thing now is having to make more ammo when your 100 stack runs to half.

just keep telling yourself that it's just a game, and that as a player, you have the power to overcome any frightening obstacles

If you're 3 hours in I say its safe to say you are in the lobby or maybe the 1st location out side of that. I found that the games scary level drops off fast after that. Mimics become less common and everything other things makes so much noice that you know where they are long before you see them.

Also a tip for the Nightmare. when they spawn they more or less know where you are at all times. Now this sounds like it would suck, but it helps you out so much. They display the alertness(?) bar above there head at all times. So you know when they spawn, you know where they are and you know they are coming for you. They can't walk though normal sized doors so just hang out in a room and shoot it through the open door until dead. Easy as pie

nightmare is easy can we plz have a mode called "hell on talos 1" and its insainly hard

alkaline, so nightmare is rly big? big things aren't scary. small things are scary. the mimics remind me of spiders too much...
