Any fix for voice volume?

So... 15 minutes into this game which everybody said was excellent and already I've had to turn it off because of the sound - mostly voice sound.

Sometimes people are so quiet it sounds like they're talking to me through a phone which is several inches from my ear. Sometimes people talking to me are so loud it sounds like they're talking directly into my ear through a megaphone.

Not going to play like this. Is there a fix?

As far as i know. No. Some people have it and some people don't. its stopping me playing the game too. its literally unplayable like this

Are you running 5.1 or stereo? I have the same issue on my 5.1 system.

Does the game still have a beta patch to choose? That made it much better for me.

Same issue and I use stereo headphones (all stereo configuration).
