Looking for a build
Basically just wondering if things like necropsy, extra medkit healing, hacking 3, and ect. Are worth the neuromods. Also, are there any 'essential' mods?

Neuromods are scattered around like candy. Smoke em while you got em.

I generally neuromodded myself when the situtation called for it. I think in the end I did end up with necropsy, physician II, and hacking IV but only because I was playing on the highest difficulty.

I am also playing on the hardest difficulty, which is the reason for the meta.

I beat it on Nightmare. Personally, the only things you really need are like, repairs, hacking, and wrench buffs.

I mainly used the disruptor and wrench for most things. The shotgun is useful for fire/voltaic phantoms and the q beam is good for telepaths, weavers, and nightmares. The disruptor as is can take out a technopath alone. A fully upgrade one is a beast.

Extra health is nice, but not necessary.

I would not bother with necroscopy unless you want to mess with typhon powers, as you will almost never use any exotic materials. I had over 200 by the end.

The pistol is pretty awful. You're much better off using either the wrench (for mimics) or the Huntress Boltcaster (for cystoids). I only used it when i needed a bit of extra damage at the end, but didn't want to reload.

If you're doing a "no neuromod" run, it basically comes down to using nullwave emitters and your disruptor, as they shut down most enemies quite handily.

I used necroscopy in my first playthrough, but since then i have never had to use it. i find plenty of exotic all around the place.

Hacking is usually most common used neuromod since it allows so much. I personally perfer mindjack for some situtations because you can use it to escape if needed.

Honestly, there's resources all over the place. If you get the mods that give you more stuff from Typhons and from Operators, as well as the one that increases recycler output, you'll be able to fabricate enough mods to buy anything you think looks cool.
