Prey
Mimic Detection Gen 2?
Heard it exists, but can't find it. Any tips?

From what I've read they might be randomized drops, so even if one person gives you the place that they found it, when you go there it could be a different one I guess? Anyway I found this, not sure if it will help. There's not many location guides yet.

Oh!

That explains it then. I've been getting quite a few dubbles.

Thought it was just redundency, but if not, then that's annoying.

Just wanted to confirm that it does exist! :steamhappy:

That was my first suit slot to be honest. Found a safe near the start of the game and kinda spent longer than I should have cracking the code based off of a mostly erased wihte board.

Got very lucky to get that LONG before getting the damned scanner.
Yea, the suit and scope chips are random. My friend got one that regens psi slowly and im on my 3rd playthrough and never found that one once and I 100%'d my first playthrough so RNG can be painful.

Lol I started to do the same thing but after trying a bunch of combos I just continued on, and you see a video from that room with the code visible just a few minutes into the game after you leave that area. You can miss it if you don't look though.

Does anyone know which are randomized and which are fixed? All of my games have had a Mimic Detection 1 on the same corpse as a psychoscope, so I've been working under the assumption that at least that chipset is a fixed loot.

Nearly all are randomised i'm guessing. I've got so many duplicates.

Yeah... Sadly seem like it.

Would have been nice if at least some 'must haves' were non-random. Like the jet-pack, or the higher-grade mimic detectors.

I definitely wish they were a bit less random. Doing a human-only run, and getting your third "kinetic blast does more damage" chip is frustrating, to say the least

Just save and reload on open unlock that certain safe I think you can reroll it somehow.

Actually, it seems like all random loot in any given area (except maybe enemy drops) is decided the first time (per playthrough) you load that area, so savescumming will only work if you go back a save from before you ever visited the area in question (in the case of the starting area / Neuromod Division, that basically means starting a new game).

Yeh enemy drops unless for quest purposes are different per kill. I've saved right before killing something before and reloaded and the loot was different.
