Reactor level: Extreme lag
At least when only looking in certain directions. It doesn't matter whether you are at the top or the bottom. Look a certain direction and you can see you FPS drop to 1.

Anyone else getting this? Its the only place in the game where I have experienced anyting like this. Geometry issues of some kind I assume.

If you look at the forums, you'll see that lots of people, myself included, found the reactor core had framerate and stuttering issues.

Same here. The reactor core area is not optimized at all. Went from 144fps to 18fps just by looking over the railing at one point.

But you can be at the bottom and get over 100 easily if you avoid looking in a certain direction. It's weird.

Every game has this one specific area, Fallout 4 have this areas a lot, even Witcher 3. Must be a curse in game development. Or maybe the it's some kind of void in the engine where a specific spot will suffer. I hope they fix this before I get there.

After i killed the voltaic in the maintainance hatch up the top of the lift shaft(body in there too) the odd performance stopped, so maybe its something to do with it spazzing out zapping constantly.

it's most likely a bug since everyone is seeing it. something in the reactor is causing the game to just choke. going from 144fps to 20 is not a normal graphical stress issue.

Thank god it wasn't just me!! that was hell to do with like 5 fps!! I killed one of them and somehow, I dunno how, managed to gloop my way up with that horrible lag, did my head in though, gonna need some time, but I am so glad it wasn't just my computer!!

I did not notice any FPS issues in the reactor core. Not very helpful too all of you but it's not affecting everyone. My specs. custom desktop machine... intell 7700K @4500, 32GB RAM, nividia GTX1080 Big areas have higher poligon counts etc...

what i noticed is if you restart the game before entering the reactor level the frame-rate doesn't drop

I ended up doing the exact same thing. I first thought my gpu was having an aneurysm but this thread confirms that it's an optimization issue

It's probably a material clipping or something related to the physcs. Definitely a gltich. Been there since Day 1 - I think it only happens during a particular part of the story - other time I visited it was super smooth.
