I can't seem to get the gate open which blocks me from the hatch leading to him.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Do more main quest, that area opens up to you later.

I like the game so far, but a well-designed game should not enable a player to waste hours looking for a switch or code or something that doesn't exist. Many games will end the ability to finish side quests once the main quest is over, so I find this completely counter-intuitive, IMHO.

Uhm Jean is not a gender-specific name and there's at least one email that refers to that person as " she", so yeah... no suprise there ;)

Really? I didn't knew that. Weird because in France, where I live and where this name come from, it is only a male name.

Edit: According to Wikipedia, "Jean" is used in English as the female version of "John" :P

Yeah I've been slighty wrong , the first example I thought of is actually "Jeanne" (d'Arc). Who is called "Johanna" here in Germany (male version : "Johann" ) ,and "Joan" in english.

Looking at the picture of her signature on wikipedia, my (obviously totally expert) take is : This all comes down to people back then having very different opinions on how some letters are supposed to look like.

Use the Gloo Gun. That's what I did to get up there. It's easier to do if you have Artex Gen-2 chipset.
