How to save Dahl

I put him in Med Room, but nothing happend.
How to perform surgery on him?

Uh, yes? Igwe is supposed to radio and say he's sending a medical operator? Then you just leave the area and it's done? Why are you carrying him around? :)

Because in my case at least I got a message "stay there till I come up with a plan" (or somthing) then never got any further message! Nothing about a medical operator etc

So you wait, and you maybe look around the rest of the area, and get ideas like "take him to the medbay" etc

You don't have to take him anywhere, just leave him unconscious. The rest will be done by our boi, Igwe.

According to the end game credits this game had more Sales Directors involved than QA testers so it's more a question of luck if any particular quest actually works.

OK, I think I figured out the deal with Dahl in the arboretum. I believe it has to do with the Operator generating console and the clutter in the med bay room.

If you have already pulled him to the med bay and the mission did not continue, look at the console for the Medical Operator. If you cannot use the console because there are too many active operators, this is the issue. So, to remedy the problem:

Pull Dahl outside the med bay.

Save the game (not quicksave).

Go over to the 'crew quarters' stairwell near the medbay, there is probably a medical operator there. Destroy it. If it is not in there, well, then wherever on the level there is a medical operator, you need to find it and kill it so the console can make a new one.

come back to the med bay, make sure there are no objects blocking the front of the Operator generating machine.

pull Dahl inside the med bay.

Save the game (not quicksave).

Go down the elevator to the lobby. At this point, hopefully you will not hear Igwe complain that we needed Dahl and then you fail that mission, instead it will just be January trying to talk you out of listening to Alex, and urging you to destroy the station.

I noticed the game still wanted me to go 'save dahl', but when I went back to the med bay he was gone, and when I returned to the lobby, Igwe called me and the mission to remove Dahl's mods carried on.

I am not sure if they hotfixed this or what, but I did as follows:

1. Stunned Dahl, Disruptor Stun Gun,when he was trying to get into Alex's room
2. Left the zone (I think it was to Deep Storage)
3 Re-entered Arboretum. Got a message from Igwe and a mission update
4. Headed to Neuromod Division via Lobby

In Neuromod D. Dahl was strapped to a chair with Igwe standing next to him. I put on the harness, did one scan and then performed the procedure. After a short in-game cinematic I unlocked the "This Never Happened"-achievement.

I found that if you throw a recycler into the medical room to clear it out first, then drag dahl into the room the quest will progress.

In case someone else needs this thread too.
Once the gravity is gone and you've incapacitated Dahl, make sure you take him into the medbay through the front door. Igwe will not automatically pick him up once the gravity is out. Follow the quest markers and don't let him die. If it doesn't work the first time. Take him in and out the main door to the med bay in the arboretum, make if you can. I made the mistake of going in the back way, so when I summoned the operator, it seems game didn't know he was there. I killed the first medical operator, sent out another one and then drug Dahl in and out of the main door to the room. Once inside with a fresh operator the quest triggered the next phase.

2023. if it may help someone, I let go of Dahl right before the entrance to the Medical Bay and then retook him, and carried him to the Medical Bay -- so the message "Dahl Is Saved" appeared finally (I tried several times simply to carry him to the Medical Bay -- nothing happened -- the safe was not counted).
