Not enjoying the combat
I just got into the lobby area and I have my wrench and GLU/plaster Gun, and now suddenly every room has a zerg of 4-5 mimics. So far the combat has been slowing things w/ the Glu gun and mainly swinging widely at my feet until things die.

I'm sorta on the fence about continuing to play as everything looks and runs great. The setting and the atmosphere are awesome but, the combat is really pissing me off. I also feel like the enemies don't have sound when they attack, making it feel like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you suddenly have like 10 life. I'm about 90 minutes in and thinking of returning this one.. Not fun :(

Go get your shotgun from your suit.

Also mimics are supposed to be quiet and sneaky.

You're a bog standard average Joe guy from the get go, the more you spec into Security, the more of a combat threat you become. Just as in real life, really. You start as a blank slate for you to "train" your skills with Neuromods.

Hint, find all the Neuromods you can.

The game keeps really annoying with mimics and typhons at each room. And really frustrating is that the monsters just respawen when you walk into another area. The game could be much better without that. So for me and after 5 hours the game is really overhyped.

Hm, I could see how it may be seen as a pain. But I think the game wants you to find alternative ways of removing, or getting past the Typhon's in each room. Sometimes there's a better way than running and gunning.

You're only human after all, unless you inject yourself with God powers from the Typhon itself, then I think that alters the playing field, all I know is that playing a run pure human is tough but fun.

go slow and sneak at the start. Minics dont zerg you unless you rush them or get near them. You can creep up on them one at a time. Or if you know whats a minic throwing things at them works to draw them out. Later when you have a pistol and shutgun you can be more rambo if you like

And when it comes to hostile operators, use the stun gun when they're facing away, with the side of them facing you, you'll get a gurantee hit and you can batter them to high hell with your wrench like some sort of crazy person.

I have this too. I hope it's a bug, but it's annoying as all hell.

Map your wrench and gloo guns to quick buttons or keys. In the words of someone "The one two punch...zap um, then whack um" ;)

Use the turrets. You can pick them up and carry them with you. Getting the repair skill asap lets you repair them. They did most of the work in the lobby for me.
