Game freezes randomly

Get this really weird bug. Game runs perfect most of the time, then it just freezes. Can be in that state for 30-60 secs then usually plays normally again. Sometimes it will crash, though that might be me trying to alt-tab out to see if the rest of the computer has frozen (it hasn't). Task manager says that cpu is under around 50% load during one of these freezes. It is an older CPU, however it's weird that the game can go from playing flawlessly to hanging like that with no warning. Tried updating GPU drivers and turning off vsync, running in borderless window mode with no luck.

PC specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 960T
Nvidia GTX 970
16GB RAM
installed to SSD

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I am having the same issue. I noticed it tends to be when the game is quick or auto-saving or when it is trying to pull up a tutorial window (maybe it autosaves then).

OC? Overclocked? Not sure what you're saying here. CPU is at stock speeds.
