[Spoiler] Optional mission "Psychic Water" have any impact on the ending?

I have an optional mission called 'Psychic Water' where I have to install a psychoactive particle injector in the water treatment facility. It looks ominous as hell and I'm reluctant to install it, but I wanna know if it has any negative impact on the ending...

Its uptairs inside one of teh two rooms. It's the one with the corrupted robot. Also I installed it and it helps you regenrate psi points when drinkign form a water fountain. Theres one next to the door in the other room to try out.
Did anyo of you restore power to the water treatment plant? I just can'T find a way.

the power is legit on the console right by the door you walk into the room from, if your going heavy psi powers this quest is OBSURDLY helpfull, it causes EVERY SINKLE water fountain and sink in the game to act as a psi hypo, for free, and there infiniate other then a small 3-4 secend cd on each{ did you catch my pun XD}

I had this one bug out on me and the objective was stuck telling me to find the particle injector even after it was in my invintory. There was no indicator of where to install it, but that won't keep you from installing it anyway.

It's the second raised building you can get to, labeled "Water Quality Lab". There's a green machine in the middle of the room and there's a slot where you install the particle injector. The quest completes immediatly, and after about a minute all the water fountains give about 30ish psi per sip, as opposed to the 1 hp you get for health.

Scootaloo, I had the same problem with the objective being stuck and being unable to insert the psychic ppi injector.
Dropping it from the inventory and picking it back up helped. :)

I haven't reached the ending (I'm waiting for a patch so I can do mikhaila's quests), but I'm almost done with the game (if that helps). The psychotropic water just replaces the standard healing effect of water with a psi replenisher. Instead of restoring 1hp per long water sound (before the upgrade, don't know if the increased health from consumables makes any difference to this value). The water restores like 50 psi or so per drink making psi powers even more useful. So if you've installed typhon mods you should probably go for it. It seems no different than using science operators, except every level pretty much has a bathroom aka mimic and ghost ambushing area.

yeah i'm having this bug atm but dropping it and picking it up doesn't do anything for me

OMG picked up the stupid thing way early and was going in cirlces trying to jam the thing in..... dropping it did in fact fix it and allowed me to install it :) sweet!!! thanks steams. heavy psi so this is EPIC!!!

I'm curious if this affects your empathy score. It's kinda dubious sounding, so I didn't do it.

From what I've seen it doesn't seem to have any impact - or even get a mention. I have no idea why you even need to do it. It's a very strange mission.

Life Support deck, near the security area is a bathroom. There is a grate in one corner that leads to maintenance tunnels. In there will be a corpse with a transcribe log and the part.

It didn't but I went away from that area and did some quests and when I returned I was able to install it.
