FEAR was a flat-out shooter with a tense atmosphere, this is less-focused on the shooting and combat and more on the exploratory freedom. It's more like a horror-oriented Bioshock but with a full inventory system, skill tree and Metroid/Castlevania style backtracking (ie; if you find a door you can't get through with what skills and such you have available, you can always come back hours later after you've gained additional skills to try again).

I was just thinking it does feel a bit like FEAR...mainly because you can spec to have bullet time basically. Only if you choose it though...The game feels like a big mash up of a lot of classics like FEAR, Half Life, Bioshock, System Shock and Dead Space. It feels a lot more like those games than the old Prey.

No! F.E.A.R. Doesn't make any damn sense, this game, as far as I have played, makes sense.

I don't think he is asking if this is a FEAR clone. He is asking if it is like it at all. Clearly they have some similarities that someone who likes FEAR would be into. Prey would definitely come up in a "you may also like" online store algorithm.

No. F.E.A.R. is like... Doom I guess. It's a fast-paced shooter with linear design. This game is more like Alien Isolation/System Shock/Bioshock.

How is this like Alien Isolation? I thought there is barely any action in that game...Just a lot of stealth and puzzles. Bioshock and Prey have a lot of action in it...It may not be as in your face as action heavy as Doom or Fear but they are definitely closer than a pure survival horror game. I haven't been scared once.
