Prey
Has Anyone Tried Prey on Both Console and PC?
I'm wondering what system I should pick this up for. I generally like shooters on PC because mouse/keyboard is way faster, more accurate, and more responsive. Going back and playing shooters on console feels clunky and awful now. I'm wondering if it's a good console shooter, or if it's a typical shooter that plays a little better with a mouse/keyboard on PC?

i have it on PC play it maxed out at 1440p. my friend has it on xbox one. It is night and day difference for me. 60FPS alone is enough reason for PC.

I played the demo on PS4. It's about as good as any other console shooter I guess... I mean I would always rather play on PC. It's only running at 30fps on consoles and I am terrible at aiming with a controller.

The PC controls feel great. Feels like an old school fps/rpg in a very good way. You can even lean left/right, which very few games allow you to do anymore.

Console sub-par 30 fps. PC over 100 fps. so take your pick ;)
I like it on PC, I played the demo on console and it felt slow, the mimics move super fast and your dead by the time you turn around.

PC without a doubt based on your comments. I played demo on PS4 and felt it had an interesting story and upgrade mechanic but could not stand the controls and wouldn't buy it (on console) because of such. I took a risk getting it on pc, hoping the mouse/keyboard would work well and I have no regrets. The controls feel natural on pc and work great, allowing me to enjoy the entire game vs. just thinking it had potential.

I played the Xbox demo then bought it on PC, it's definitely better on PC and mouse and keyboard work well.

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely gonna go for picking it up on PC. I tried the demo on my PS4 pro today and the game was fun, but there was so much screen tearing and the controls were just slow and horrible. You guys, as well as any PC version review, have all said PC controls, and the port itself, are fantastic. Generally, 30fps doesn't me for games like Nier, Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, and Dark Souls 3, but I just couldn't stand Prey on it for some reason.

It runs at 30fps on PS4, which just shows how bad that hardware really is. PC should be the obvious choice.

It's not that hardware on consoles is bad. Consoles aren't made for elitists, and they're cheap. One good part for a PC costs just as much if not more than a whole console. They both have they're uses. But, for someone like me who prefers action games on a controller, and shooters on a PC, as well as wants access to console exclusives, having a PS4 pro (with a 4k TV to take advantage of the pro) and a PC is the way to go. That said, the framerate doesn't usually bother me, but after trying the PS4 demo, I can say Prey on console is just unbelievably slow and clunky. I'm gonna take the advice in my post here and pick it up for PC, since I really did enjoy the game outside of the bad controls.

I played the demo on my ps4 pro.

Couldn't believe it was only 30fps. More so now that I've seen how well it runs on pc. I feel they could have hit 60 on the pro at least.

But anyway the low fov and motion blur added to the 30fps cap just gave me a headache. Couldn't even finish the demo.

Pc version is great and there are ways to disable motion blur and increase the fov.

I played the demo on PS4 but bought it on PC. So much better on PC. PS4 has that standard PS4 graining look with the graphics (maybe color spotty grain is a better description? Hard to describe but many PS4 games have a lack of clarity aside from the framerate. Far Cry 4 is a perfect example where the game looks like the colors are grainy). And 30 FPS to 100 plus makes it no contest.
