really? learn to google, use search or maybe look right the hell in front of you at the other threads as this has been discussed to death.

and who the hell decides to buy a game only based on what engine it uses? I guess someone too stupid to even figure out what engine it uses in the first place.

Since I'm not an ***hole, I'll actually answer your question.

Prey is being developed on the Cry Engine, which is not the same as the Void Engine that Dishonored 2 runs on, or the Unreal Engine.

Either way they won't buy it because it's not in house. Some people really do have weird standards

If he's not joking then he's depriving himself of some of the best games ever made.

His last played games are Postal 2 and Player Unknown's Battlegrounds.
Both Unreal games.

;-;

Also 500 hours in Call of Duty - Black Ops Multiplayer, a Quake 3/ iD Tech 3 mod.

Must be joking, Asset flipping might be what he is thinking of, but building upon a known engine like UE4/CRY or Unity helps dev teams save money/time.

What is everyones fav game engine? I've always loved the look of games built with cryengine, id5 is nice looking to, but not very good at creating destructabe environments.

Its was originally going to be on idTech 5, since id is now owned by Bethesda. Hence why Dishonored was done on a modified idTech 5 called the Void Engine. But for some reason, im guessing the MegaTexuring system and its many issues, caused them to go with the 4 generation of Cryengine.
