Enemy variety?
So, do we have to accept that we will only be seeing black spider aliens and black oily humanoids throughout the game? Any other types of enemies? So far these are all I have seen.

^I'm slightly worried about that myself. I've only seen one other type of enemy in screenshots or videos, and it just looked like an even bigger typhon alien.
Hopefully there's more, but this is why you wait for reviews.

There are more enemies they have mentioned. Currently we know of the following.

Cystoid: Smallest Typhon. Come in large nests. Not very smart. Run at the player and explode.
Mimics: Can mimic other objects. They kill a human, turn them into a Husk, and then multiply into 4 other mimics.
Weaver: Several mimics combine together to make one. Weaves make Phantoms and other Typhon. Not sure if Weaver's are scripted, or if Mimics can actually combine in game.
Phantom: Humanoid-Typhon made out of Husks by Weavers. Has different elemental-phyiscal attacks based off enviornment and other factors. Currently confirmed are Electricity, Ice, Fire, and some form of teleportation/telekenisis.
Telepath: Described a Mini-Boss type encounter. Telepaths are floating orb-shaped Typhon that take control of organic beings in the area, then make those beings help the Telepath. Also have psychic attacks that disable the player's powers.
Nightmare: Boss-Typon. Specifically designed by a Weaver to hunt down a series threat against the Typhon (AKA YU). Massive size, heavily damaging attacks. Can change body size to pursue you through the enviornment. Several glowing dots on it's body (Maybe weak points). The more Typhon-Powers you install the more easily the Nightmare can find you (This game's version of Dishonored's Chaos System).

Electronic enemies:
Operators: Hostile robots that can be found. They use a variety of man-made gadgets. Flamethrowers, melee weapons. Non-Hostile ones can heal the player and provide other help.
Turrets: At the beginning of the game friendly to you. Can be moved around to help fight Typhon. If you install many Typhon Neuromods the Turrets will become hostile to you and must be hacked. You CAN mimic them if you wish.

Also, if you instal many Typhon Neuromods, or do other actions that can cause it, the humans on board the station can turn hostile to you. They mostly have same equipment as Yu.

Thank you so much for the info, much appreciated. Good to know! But what you are saying is that most enemies are variants of the mimics, correct? So no cyborg hybrids or other alien humanoids besides mimic variants and humans?

We are not sure yet. Probably related to the neuromods and the Secret Research Arkane has teased happening near the center of Talos 1. Wouldn't be surprised to see Typhon taking over machines though. would be interesting.
