is there any reason to keep the silenced pistol after getting the golden gun

Well the Gorden Gun does have the benefit of having been proven in the Black Mesa facility, making it a solid pick.


As for the Golden Gun, it's a straight upgrade, so no, the silenced pistol is unworthy.

You miss a point it's silenced so you can take out enemies without attracting more whereas as the golden gun is bloody loud

I'm pretty sure Golden Gun is silenced as well, it just has higher damage than standard silenced pistol. I dropped silenced pistol the moment I acquired golden gun and used it to dispatch mimics silently from safe distance. I would be surprised if golden gun was not silenced and I did not notice it all the way until end.

You'll find it in the crew quarters that's mid game if I remember correctly

Strictly speaking - if you upgrade the silenced gun at all, logic would dictate that switching to the golden gun then is a waste of ressources. See for yourself, but I find myself in the situation of not using guns as much anymore when the golden gun comes around.
