Kid won't get up at the very beginning

So I bought Limbo and when I start a new game he's supposed to wake up and then get up off the floor right? Well he doesn't. Ever. I've tried a new game so many times. The furthest I got was him simply opening his eyes but still laying down. I really want to play and I don't know what to do about this massive glitch? I looked through all of these threads and found no one with the same problem.

i just kept one of the arrow keys held down for like a minute. it takes about 1 minute for him to get on his feet.

no you just have to click the arrow key 4 times or something like that

if it is still happening then try reinstalling the game i just pressed the right arrow key and he got up
