I would say it's a quite open ending. You can have different interpretations.
Yeah I wanted a happy ending where he and the little girl are reunited :/
My only disappointment was it was short.
However, I think it would have been friggin awesome if at the very end, you come out right were you started and instead of finding your sister/girlfriend/whatever you just continue playing from the first stage all over again. It'd be TRUE LIMBO. It'd be the best middle finger ending ever.
Yeah this is what I wanted as the ending, at least it would give closure that it is never ending.
