Game won't start

Someone told me that the game was free yesterday, so I installed it, launched it, but when the screen that said "Limbo" came up, it just switched to a black screen. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I gave up on it. Why isn't the game starting? Is my graphics card not compatible or something? Is this game too old for me to run?

no your graphics card would most likely not be the cause of the issue as the game is new enough to not have that problem. i am also having troble starting up the game when i start it it just says that it it 'preparing to start limbo' and it keeps on poping up. not sure how to fix this and have re installed and still have the problem. if anyone can help that would be great

Yea, that sucks. According to the reviews, this game's suppose to be the ♥♥♥♥ but idk alot of people say it sucks, too.

Just tested this, didn't work, the game is still stuck at a black screen. All it did was window it however, this did not do the trick. Any other viable solutions?

Welp... I've tried everything... and by everything, I mean installing and reinstalling. They actually handed out a broken game. Shame. It was free so all I really lost... was time.

Well, I solved my problem - it didn't want to run on my 144Hz monitor. I started the game on my TV (which is probably 60Hz) and the game started normally. Yay for steam controller and couch gaming!

FIX - open settings.txt in the game directory and remove all of the "#" wasd (under user controls settings) so it sould look like:

controls #
up2 = "W"
down2 = "S"
left2 = "A"
right2 = "D"
action2 = "LCONTROL"
