open gacha capsules, place them on shelves or put them in a box for later, check the notice board for messages from mom and gacha catalogs, move to the next level when you run out of capsules. it's gonna be the same room with largely the same everything but also more shelf space. (hot tip: the windowsill is also available.)

props for starting out with a wombat, the best animal in the world, but there are hamsters as well, among other things. they come in sets and with their own amusing remarks, gotta collect them all. and of course there's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cat in the window too, no game is perfect.

the guide and the tutorial explain how to play and the non-rebindable controls. click to pick up, click to place, right click to flip, mouse wheel to rotate, but it's not 100% mousable, as you need a/d to nudge stuff while mousing over them, but no other hotkeys, which is weird. arrows should also pan the room, now edge scrolling with the mouse is the only way. right click examines items on the bulletin board and puts them back, mouse wheel leaves zoomed-in areas, on top of clicking the exit button in the corner.

nice and cute pixely graphics, upbeat music. 2 save slots to keep progress separate, instant and almost silent text, just a beep once per sentence, tolerable. separate volumes are the only settings, windowed mode would be necessary, as alt+enter only makes a useless non-resizable one. photo mode is a thing in the pause menu, wheel zooms, but why only in photo mode? the pause menu is where you'll find the settings and a save icon that presumably saves when clicked but there's no feedback, confirmation, nothing. there might also be autosaves on a new level or exit, who knows?

it's fine for what it is, takes about half an hour or however long you wanna spend on organizing stuff. could use more functionality and quality of life, what I already mentioned and these:

- more hotkeys (esc for the menu, photo mode, gacha machine, even for the shelves, window and bulletin board)

- more interactivity (lots of stuff in the room but barely anything's clickable)

- zooming outside photo mode (with the wheel when not holding an item)

- skippable texting between levels and especially the credits in the end (the whole thing and click for the next one)

- clickable speech bubbles on items (to make them go away faster than they'd do on their own)

I have been looking forward to nudge since it was in playtesting. While I had a great time with the game at that point, the full release has blown me away! I am not one to cry when watching TV or playing video games; however, by the end of nudge, I was teary-eyed. Nudge's controls make it easy to pick up, the art and music are fantastic, and the writing is outstanding. The tutorial is easy to understand and translates well to touchpad controls. The game is the perfect length for the content it provides, and I was left excited to play it again! Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and would certainly download it again! I truly cannot recommend this game enough!

A charming and cozy game with a thoughtful and touching story. The bread and butter of the game is unboxing a delightful assortment of gacha figurines and toys, arranging them for display in your room, but what I found most memorable about the game was the way these mechanics interact with the story. You play Joey, a creative and lighthearted soul who works in accounting to pay the bills. Her well-meaning but sometimes overbearing mother leaves her mark on the place, "cleaning up" and rearranging Joey's space to make room for more practical items such as accounting books and vitamins. Through Joey's mother's changes to the space, as well as a sequence of text message exchanges between Joey and her mother, you watch their relationship evolve. I won't spoil where it leads, but it's a heartwarming tale that I recommend you check it out yourself!
