Freezing at Kofun Tomb

Hello, I've been having fun with the game, there have been some crashing issues with initiating dialogue that have gone away after starting the game again, but I have a different issue that seems to be totally unavoidable.

In the Kofun Tomb dungeon, in the second area where you're confronted by one of Elric's wizards, my game freezes right after their confrontation and the Dark Hero appears again, immediately after the exclamation mark over Rodan's head disappears. I can't make any inputs, but the fog still moves so it's not 100% frozen. Reloaded a few times with different equipment and stuff, but no change.
