Could we get a Retopology Room?
I feel like VR would be great for Retopology. One of the hardest parts of retopologizing on a 2D screen is trying to rotate the camera around to get a view of small corners where you want to place vertices, or trying expand a polygon without having it jump to the opposite side of your model cause it has no sense of depth.

Both of these issues would be immensely less frustrating in VR where you can reach out and indicate where you want a vertices in all 3 axis at once.

Anyone I know it's not on the current road map, but I do think it would be a cool addition for the future. Also I am not aware of any software at the moment that does this.

Look at Clavicula yet? It has retopology tools and apparently works in VR.

No I hadn't heard of Clavicula before. But it looks like it's free so I'm going to give it go.
Thanks!

Just saving others some time: Clavicula only works with Quest 2 and doesn't work well. Do not recommend it now that I had time to test it out. Unfortunately, I'm still using Masterpiece VR for sculpting (more stable than anything else) and Blender for retopology. Blender's retopology tools are the best available but take a ton of time to understand and get good at.

A Retopo room would be great! Interesting mention of Clavicula, but like Syrsly said, it doesn't look ready for retopo in VR either.

When we will add a Retopology room is currently undecided, there will likely be an Automatic Retopology tool first and then some assisted manual tool. We have made many experiments in this area so we have some idea of best practice.

That's encouraging to hear, and I'm glad your researching it. I imagine VR has it's own set of challenges, but I also can't help but feel like it has a lot of potential.

topogun has the best retopo tools available by a long shot, followed by 3d coat then maya a close 3rd, blender relies on addons that try to copy topogun and 3d coat but don't do a good job cause they're limited by blender's snapping accuracy
