Report a translation problem
I seem to remember a discussion on a forum a few years ago where one of the original developers joined, but he was unable to help as he had no access to the original code. Such a pity.
Found it - https://www.neogaf.com/threads/fighting-framerates-help-with-sega-rally-revo.1167878/
Yes i know all about that thread, ive read it 100 times haha. Either way, do you know that we can still play online this game on Xbox? i have Xbox, and recently ive tested SEGA RALLY REVO on it, and multiplayer online STILL WORKS, just didnt find anyone to play with . If anyone has it please, lets play and race that great game. I was very good at this game once, but then i checked time attacks of players online on XBOX LIVE and the times are fu...king crazzy lol. Tried too beat some of the ghost cars and its foking hard :D
edit: I downloaded a save with all the tracks unlocked in Quick Race so at least I can do the restart trick to get a smooth 60fps. Does the Championship mode have tracks that aren't in the Quick Race category?
FPS counters do report the game as running at 60fps, but the framepacing is totally off.
Some one on the Neogaf thread quoted above described the problem -

Using CheatEngine speedhack I found out that the game renders exactly 62.5 frames every second. But it then draws them in the incorrect order. You can't fix the problem limiting framerate with RTSS, neither using antilag D3D9 library. But, surprisingly, using speedhack with 0.96 value (that converts 62.5 into 60 frames per second) the game is perfectly smooth. Why I need help then? Because this fix, unlike any other game, is inconsistent in Sega Rally. Sometimes works for the full race. Sometimes only for the first lap. Sometimes you have to speed up to x2 before going to 0.96 to fix the problem. Sometimes the framerate is perfect but every tree on the sides of the track collapses when your car moves along the road..

The only way it will run buttery smooth is by starting a quick race or time attack, pausing then choosing the restart option. The frame pacing gets screwed during the pre-race flyover and doesnt recover.
Try it. Its night and day.
P.S. Using G-sync helps a little, but its still not smooth at any resolution/refresh rate even on a RTX 3090
Exacly, i know that thread from where you took the post. ive read it 10 times over, tried few tricks and ended same. Only restart works fine. u cant fix framerate in championship mode in any way...
01.Install base game ONLY. (From the original installer/CD)
02. Do NOT install patch v4.060 --- Because that introduces the FRAME PACING ISSUES!
03.Play (of course you need the original CD, otherwise you need a no-cd patch).
This is not the fix, I have the 1.0 copy.
This worked for me thanks for posting this. I got the copy off abandonware. Make sure to get the ISO and not the "Full-Rip" as that has the 4.060 patch applied. My frametime is dead flat. I also have to run the game off the ISO using the Sega Rally_SSE1.exe as nothing else works.
