mage is the easyest char to play

but if you want all successes and badge you must play all of them

Started a rogue archer on nightmare for the first time today. Hope I won't regret it

as Rogue you can summon animals to fight for you and duel wield but as warrior you can deal out more damage and wear heavy armor

Did really well as a mage that focused on Spirit magic once. Walking bomb, crushing prison, mana shield (useful protecting against magic attacks, which can be very dangerous in this game), as well as the odd Primal spell to deal damage like Stone Fist and Lightening Bolt.

But out of warrior and rogue, I'd go for Rogue. Sneak attacks can be extremely useful in dealing critical hits and the focus on a mixture of dual-wielding for close quarters and archery at a distance is very effective (especially against the Archdemon!)

Rogue is great. I went all backstab and was doing serious damage. I may have to try warrior next.

Honestly, I was surprised at just how well a dual wield warrior works. Even better than melee rogues I've played. Once you can equip a full sized weapon in each hand, being able to use the armor from the Warden's Keep DLC, and often star fang as a main hand? Absolutely insane survivability, and damage. With the huge stamina bonus from the DLC armor, you'll never have any problems. You can even keep precision strike up at all times and never even notice it's eating some of your stamina pool, while making you that much more accurate. Perfect striking can also heavily increase a DW warrior's potential damage if you're willing to invest that far.

anything other than CC blood mage is bad imo

go bloodmage/arcane warrior. keep Arcane Armor/Rock Armor/Arcane Warrior Buff/Shimmer Sheild all on buttons to toggle on rapid fire if you pickup aggro, otherwise keep them off and play like a mage.

heavy on the magic, about equal on will and con, run yourself oom then go blood, pickup just the heal from creation to help wynne and so you can heal an ally then vamp them.

my main spells are crushing prison, force feild, the 2 aoe blood CCs, chain lighting, and heal.

stonefist and mindblast as backups for if they get too close or ccs are down. aim to stunlock mages while ali and leliana cleanup

if the tank drops toggle your spells on and run in to tank. you do good dmg with just autos and can use your sparse mana for a few free heals on yourself. lyrium potions + shimmer sheild also = alot of tanking.

Both are great...I prefer Rogue though, as duel wielding is fun. Also, lockpicking, hate not being able to do that.

Do a bow warrior, just for lulz

both are good. For dual wielding:

Rogues can do more single target damage when they backstab. They can also get bard spec for group buffs.
Warriors will probably have better defence and can tank enemies easier. And they can get templar spec against mages.

warrios also can go 2 handed, which is basically a "melee caster". Does huge damage to important enemies, but then has to wait for skills to come back up.
Or sword and shield, which i usually let alistair do if i dont just go with dual wield dex tank.
