Wardens keep question
Hello all,

I was wondering if the armor you can get from wardens keep scales to meet the player level? For example if I were to get it just before I beat the game, would I still get the same stats if I got it right at the beginning?

The level scales. If you get the armor early then the stats would be lower. It's best to get it later on if you want the highest stats. The level is set based on what level you are when you first enter the Soldier's Peak not when you acquire the armor, so again if you want the hghest level armor don't even visit Soldier's Peak until you are level 18.

The armor scales with the Warden's level – for example, the set is made of veridium (Tier 4) when it is found at level 9 and dragonbone (Tier 7) at level 18. The tier level is determined by the Warden's level when they first enter the Soldier's Peak area - not when they acquire the armor (i.e. if you are level 8 when you enter Soldier's Peak but level 9 when you acquire the armor, it will still be tier 3 Steel).

I know you didn't ask about this but you should note that the armor won't normally import into Awakening when you import your character (or start a new character in Awakening). You will eventually acquire better armors in Awakening though.

However there is a mod that will enable this armor and all other DLC to import into Awakening: http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/874/?

oooooo, thanks.
If you're going to use that mod then you might aswell download better looking armor mods.
The Witcher armors are my favourate. They look awesome and the stats are kick ass aswell. The armors aren't too op tho so it's quite ok to use them. They can also be used in Awakening.
Scalable armour can be sold to the dwarves at your camp and then bought back. You will receive them back at the appropriate level. Kind of a PC bug. :)
lol, thats an awesome bug right there. thanks.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I like to play vanilla. Not a big mod fan.

I played through the game 3 times without any mods. Then modded the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game and it's better with mods tbh. Leliana is damn ugly without the mods and Morrigan can be better with mods too...and Sten. + modded armors and weapons do look better imo. They don't have to be overpowered.

But i know mods are not for everybody. It's just that after couple of playthrough every game gets boring for me unless i can get additional content and that's where mods come in...but that's just me. Some people can finish games several times without modding and if that's the way you like to roll then by all means go for it.
