Weren't the Warden and Hawke missing?
Spoiler Warning

So I got the ending in DA2 (don't know if this ending depends on anything) where Leliana and Cassandra discuss the Warden and Hawke being gone, and it not being a coincidence, yadda yadda yadda. So after playing through DA:I, I started wondering, while Hawke's disappearance is explained, the Warden's isn't. Even more so, the previous companions comment on what the Warden is up to, as if (s)he's never went missing. Since I pretty much rushed through DA:I, did I miss something? Or did Bioware just ldecide not to pay attention to this giant plot hole? My guess would be that DA3 was supposed to include the Warden and Hawke in a bigger capacity, but Bioware threw that out the window just for the sake of giving us yet another new main character. I don't even want to be right with that assumption, as that'd be severly depressing.

It's not a plothole. If Leliana was romanced in DA:O, she reveals that the Warden is on a mission but does not tell you the nature of it. If Morrigan or Alistair were romanced, they tell you that the Warden is trying to find a way to prevent the Calling. So yes, the Warden was "gone" at the end of DA2, but only in the sense that Cass couldn't find them to offer them the role of Inquisitor.

Yeah I know of Leliana's comment, but why would she be looking for the Warden at the end of DA2? Did the Warden just leave for his/her mission without telling anyone? I doubt it

If its about the calling the warden would be sworn to secrecy, anything about their joining ritual (includding the calling) is hush hush, wardens only.

Yeah but, again, the Warden is MISSING, I doubt (s)he'd just up and leave like that

The Blight was over, the Archdemon defeated. The Warden had something else to do so they left. Why is that so strange? They didn't drop off the face of the planet. They are only "missing" in the sense that certain people like Cassandra can't get in touch with them. The Warden told their lover that they were leaving on a new quest. It's not a unreasonable that they didn't tell anyone else.

At the end of my Awakenings it said that the warden returned to court and didn't remain commander of the gray wardens for very long then she just vanished but many don't think it was the end of her adventures. So I think that when the warden vanished is when she went on the adventures to do Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt looking for Morrigan. I think they are trying to find a nice way to fade out without being too specific so you can come to your own conclusions about where the warden is. Eventually the warden will leave for The Calling unless if you preserved the Urn of Andraste they might be able to use it as a cure? I think it's really open for your own interpretation.

At 2:35 they talk about how both Hawke and the Warden are gone, and it not being a coincidence. Doesn't sound like Leliana (my Warden's love interest) knows where the Warden is.

Yes, I remember this scene. Leliana is only theorizing that it's not a coincidence. She doesn't know for sure if it's related or not. After all, the Warden did not tell her what they were doing or where they were going, only that they were on an important mission. It was plausible to her that they were working with Hawke. We find out that's not true in DA:I but at that point Leliana didn't have a reason to believe otherwise.

She's a big girl with her own important things going on. She probably trusted the Warden enough not to need to know every detail of the journey they were undertaking.

Also, I'm sure Bioware wrote that line without totally considering DA:I. Doesn't make it a plothole though.
