~Dragon Age: Origins arcane warrior~
Hi friends, I was wondering if anyone had a good arcane warrior build/guide, that can use heavy armor/weapons and some spells (preferably healing spells, going for a paladin) I've looked some guides up on the internet but they're way too bloody long, I want a quick version of what class, race I should use, specializations and where I should put my attribute points, skill points.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance~

Pretty simple really. Start as mage then select Arcane Warrior when you have unlocked the specialisation. Your magic stat is then used as a strength stat for weapons and armour. Worth putting some points into dex, so you can actually hit something :)

And for your second specialization choose spirit healer to get some of the good healing spells if you want that paladin feel. Also haste is pretty good too, but you'll need even more dex to hit stuff like what ModerateOsprey said. It would also be a good idea to get some spells that hit multiple targets like mind blast, cone of cold, etc. Just so you don't get over run by a lot of enemies.
Staying simple - magic provides your power, but you need willpower to give you the mana needed to keep up a flow of spellcasting. If you want a deep well of mana, you will also need to invest in willpower.

Taking my earlier comments into account, you also need to invest in dex, so you can actually hit something with your weapon. You can sacrifice the investment in willpower if you are willing to chug mana potions.

An arcane warrior is a pile of fun to play, BTW. Some players actually complain it is overpowered, but if you want your charcter to be the atom bomb of DA:O, it is the way to go :)

If you are comfortable modding your game, there is a mod that allows you to respec your character and your party members anytime. The mod is also done quite well in that it fits ito the gameplay and the vibe of the game.
Morrigan shapeshifter/arcane warrior.

She adds her amor value onto the armor of her shapeshifted form. The items you give her should prioritise armor and hp regen. She can have the highest armor in the game when in her dire bear form. The only stats you need to increase on her is magic and some willpower.

her insect form is just nuts and does contstant AoE damge.

the bears overwhelm ability is excellent for pinning down elites.

Its pretty much the only way that Shapeshifter is even viable and its a little bit broken, many times in a game my entire party would die, but morrigan would clean up every enemy that was left.

*important* You have to completely disable tactics on her otherwise when you transform into the insect swarm you get a bug where she tries to cast "cold snap" a hundred times, fails everytime, and her mana instantly drops to 0. Ive honestly never tried this build on the warden, i don't know if they are subject to the same bug or not.

So what would you say I should put my attribute points into each level? because so far I've just dumped them all into magic. I'm only like level 2 or 3
Put everything into magic until you actually pick the arcane specialixation - AFTER that you will want to put in enough DEX so that you have 30 in total - then everything into magic again.

As for spells, anything that can be casted without having to skeath your weapons.

Someone mentiones spirit healer as a second specialization. That is indeed a good second specialization, especially so as you wanted to make a "paladin" character. Otherwise I usually prefer to choose "blood mage" as second specialization. That way I can still cast spells left and right. Reason being that you otherwise are a bit low on mana at all times due to all the buffs you want to be up.

BTW, try to go for any gear that increases stamina/mana regeneration while in combat. You want "shimmering shield" up at all times while in combat, but it sadly consumes mana rapidly if you dont have the right gear to counterweight it.
Well my arcane warriors at lvl 20 stats are usally are around
14 Strength (10 from the start + 4 in the fade DONT PUT ANYTHING HERE!)
20-25 Dex (Also 4 in fade)
35-45 Wisdom (4 in fade)
55-60 Magic (only 2 in the fade)
18 Cunning (5 from fade... I only but 3 point here so i can persuade at highest lvl)
12 Cons (2 in fade no points here ether)

Dont put any points in dex until after lvl 8-10 cause your melee combat will suck.

Recomended spells
Active:

Glyphs of Paralyse, Glyph of Warding, Glyph of Repulsion
Mind Blast , Force Field, Crushing Prison
Fireball, Inferno
Cone of Cold
Arcane Bolt

Passive:

Arcane Shield
Rock Armor
Miasma
Flaming Weapon

And of course all the Specializations spell. Put the rest of the skill points in what you prefer or need.

Also Blood Mage with arcane warrior IS OP. And only templars can ue templar armors

i like AW, blood mage second and battlemage 3rd.

taking the biggest massive armour and shield i can find, and just stack the buffs (arcane shield, mage armor, rock skin, deflect, the 'heal from dead' aura...), with spirit weapons for good measure.

using that and the AW's sill, you easily double your armor value from full massive, and also get 50% evade and a 50% ignore change, recuding incoming DPS by ~90%

becouse that maintain stack takes nearly all your mana, blood mage can be used to use effective spells (fireball still is great), since you won't really need your hitpoints anyway
Is there any mod to unlock the specialisation if, err, someone didn't let the demon live?

I've pretty much stopped playing since I realised the mistake I made because the game kept telling me 'Demons = bad', 'Wardens kill demons, mmkay?'.

I really would like to unlock it without having to play-through again.

Awesome, thanks :)
Arcane / Blood is a better combo than Arcane / spirit healer by a mile. Just throw on massive armour weapon + shield. max healing tree in creation, get at least stone armour in primal, arcane shield in the arcane tree, telekenetic weapons (all the way to crushing prison). Fire tree syncs well here too (fireball is beast as ♥♥♥♥ to drop on yourself you can easily tank this in nightmare if needed and knock everyone down.) make sure to get miasmia from the paralysis tree also. Late game make sure you get wisp sustained spell for a SP boost.

other than that just make sure you have high magic, VERY HIGH DEXTERITY (or you will NOT HIT ANYTHING) and oddly enough i find high wisdom particullarly useful. with blood magic fatigue dosent mean ♥♥♥♥, but a high mana bar can enable ♥♥♥♥ tons of sustained effects to boost you through the roof.

for awakening get the 100% spirit damage ring go battle mage / spirit healer. spam the spirit damage aura from battle mage and even doing the harvester on nightmare you are nigh unkillable (i've soloed the room with 10 golems that locks on nightmare this way.)
