DAO: Cannot Leave Denerim after Landsmeet

I'm playing the PC version of Dragon Age Origins. I did most of the side missions in Denerim before doing the Landsmeet. Fought Loghain myself, spared him, and made him become a Grey Warden. Lost Alistair so he becomes a drunk. Now I cannot leave the City of Denerim. M key brings up local map, N key brings up map of Denerim, with no option of getting country-wide map. Have all DLC and promotional content installed. Any help on this would be appreciated.

You should verify the integrity of your cached files under properties, local files when you right click on DA:O in your Steam library.

Not sure if you already know this but you can only exit Denerim to the World Map through the Market District the same location you enter from. If you are in the alienage or The Pearl District then you can only travel through the city.

Went from saving the Arl of Redcliff straight to Demerim Marketplace {N.W. gate} from world map. Did some side-quests, then the Landsmeet [Saving the queen, Alienage Plague, and then the confrontation at the Landsmeet]. Ended up back at Arl of Redcliff's mansion. Arl says to meet him in Redcliff. I gather my crew, go to the N.W. gate, want to leave city. Only gives me option to move around in city.

When you click on the gates, it should bring up a map of Denerim. At the bottom are two icons, one that looks like a compass rose, one that looks like a map/chart. Click on the second icon for the world map.

Tried that. One takes me to local map [gate at market district], second takes me back to Denerim map. Decided to chuck my progress and go back to Urn of Sacred Ashes. Seems to load ok from there. I just lose a few hours of progress. Ok though, now I know what to expect.
