Hi. I am replaying this game after a few years but i realized the DLC does not show, not on unauthorized or content or downloaded...does it mean it does not work?

for a while the dao dlc was free from ea

looks like it expired on the 14th this month

if you had it, it should still be on the ea acct

edit:
did you get the dlc from steam or ea?

edit:
https://social.bioware.com
log into ea if you got the dlc thru them

pick on my profile -> your registered game content
https://social.bioware.com/user_entitlements.php

then download all of the pc/mac dlc
some will have a download link on the page,
others will say more info and have a download link

some are exe files, run them and pick the dragon age install location
default is
c:\program files...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age...

many are .dazip files
browse to your dragon age origins install location, open bin_zip
SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\bin_ship
and run
DAUpdater.exe

pick select dazip, browse to your downloads, and pick all of the dazip files, (ctrl+a to select them all)
then select them all, and install (pick the top one, then shift and pick the bottom one to select all)

It was never free.

Also none of this should be necessary with the ultimate edition as all the DLC is included in the download.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist (or wherever you install your Steam games)

Run both of the following .exe files:

DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe
DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe

The second one in particular adds the DLC to the games AddIns.xml file so the game knows they are there. They should then show up in game.

it was free, but not anymore
now its just a few xbox dlcs that are free

http://social.bioware.com/da2/dlc_bundle/

steam does not offer any dlc for the game
http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/47810/
you had to get them from bioware/ea to get any of the dlc

make an origin/ea account, and enter the game code you got from steam and it will add all of the dlc to your ea/bioware acct, then you can download and install it

If you have the Ultimate Edition then just do as MonkeySeeker suggests (NB I've read that it may cause issues if you do it when you're already partway through a playthrough - I did have a weird glitch for a few hours after doing it where my existing character couldn't add people to her party on leaving the Camp, but I started a new character, got to Ostagar and then went back to my original character and it had sorted itself out - so it may be worth bearing that in mind.) I didn't find Origin remotely helpful on this score.

Nope. It was never free.

And again none of what you say is needed for the ultimate edition which includes all the DLC in the download.

You don't need to redeem any codes on the BioWare site.

You don't need to manually download and install them from the BioWare site.

instead of fighting, write to steam (if you got it through steam) and the customer service was quick and super friendly... (ps... you are both right... on xbox like 200 years ago, you needed to buy the DLC on disc in person at the store, i cannot speak for pc) ... you DO get the DLC with the ultimate edition through steam, it is just packaged with your main game... but you must go into the base game properties and you can find the info on how to reveal it there... I was freaking out about it "missing" yet it was appearing in game... as i learned over time, in the main menu just go to options and find the "Downloaded" tab... and see all the DLC that you thought you didn't have... anyway, it is 3 years later but "No DLC guy who insists you used to pay for it"... it does not matter.... Steam and Bioware are both taking good care of all of this.... you are so good at talking without listening... several smart folk were all trying to help, i owe people like that quite a bit and you waste their time IF you don't listen... they have made 20 mile crawls into 3 or 4 clicks for me countless times... not google, not company pages, it was the good people of the forums at steam or Nexus, Discord, etc... last point, i got DAO on the box easily 10 years ago, and the first time booted up, it tried accessing a server that had already bailed... just saying that the DLC has been free over a decade... thank you to those who try to help, i get your impatience when your words fall upon deaf ears.... but know there are some of us who love you for what you do, whether it is teaching us how to mod, how to find DLC that we already have and believe otherwise, how to make Serana marry our characters and how to watch the honeymoon without the fade out...(some of you guys/girls need to smile more though.... stop biting tha hand that feeds you cause i am still hungry and they stop helping when you do that... it is 3:30 am and my adderall dose was raised today.... hence this message that you probably will not read... it is appreciating those who attempt to help... it is condescending sometimes but i would be to if someone asked for help then told you that you are wrong.. on behalf of those who ask questions and appreciate any response that addresses my point in question, thank you... (if you are going to answer with how wrong i am and not even mention the question... you are clogging up threads that could help me and others with something akin to jerry springer) sweet dreams good people... you are brilliant

First off, if you are using mods, that is your problem. For me, Vortex Mod Manager overwrote my (addins) file with my mods (addins). When opening the file, I noticed the addins were all my mods and not the DLC. If you have modded game, you'll need to delete all mods, folders and main game. I know of no workaround for this, but I have fixed the DLC not showing. Unmodded of course.

The problem is caused by the addin.xml file in the folder:

C:\[Username]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings (replace [Username] with your actual username)

it is not updated correctly after the installation, so you have to update it yourself...

This is how it works:

-find the addin.xml file in the "_installer" folder of your INSTALLATION DIRECTORY(!) usually this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\__Installer

-copy the addin.xml from your installation directory and replace the addin.xml file in C:\[Username]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings

Congratulations, you are finally able to play DAO: Awakening and all DLCs you have installed!"

FURTHER UPDATE:

On opening the game after the above fix, all the DLC was showing up and everything seemed to be in order. However, I realized quickly that despite it showing all DLC as installed and enabled, I still wasn't able to access Sulcher's Pass and the merchant wasn't actually showing up at the camp for Warden's Keep. SO FRUSTRATING. But I went back to the internet and found some info that it was possible that the offers file was messed up.

This additional fix allowed me to play the game with the DLC actually, truly showing up in my game:

1. Do steps as listed above

2. In that same C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\__Installer folder, there is another file you need to copy - offers.xml

3. In the C:\[Username]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings folder, I found that there was no offers file at all. So I just pasted the offers.xml file here.

4. Problem should be solved!
Fixed it for me

Any awards you might consider giving me, don't. Instead pass them to this other person!
